DevLog 4: Where have I been?

Hey Guys,

Long time no post. Which I am sorry about. I have been working on the game, as well as on the YouTube and Twitch channels to get more followers and hopefully more people in the game.

What have I been doing besides YouTube? Working on games. I had attempted to make a game for the game Jam: RPG Maker Horror Game Jam #8: Realm of Nightmares. This project started with a lot of promise, but I hit a wall on the structure of the project and never finished it. This failure did teach me a lot about time management, and how to structure a project.

On the Other Side of Despair side of things, I have been working on multiple things.

Firstly, I have been continuing to work on the art style of the game, but not just gameplaywise, I have been working on the UI as well. This is slow progress as it takes to complete and make things look good. However, once it is the game will look better.

Secondly, I have been working on a collectible system for the game. This collectible system uses a custom plugin that splits the collectible into Sections, Chapters and then Items with one Section being on the Title Screen and the other not. This has been a long process to get it to a working point and if people are interested then I may make a simplified version as a plugin to sell.

Thirdly with the collectible system now implemented. I will increase the amount of things Players can do on the side, like side-missions, and documents to get more lore, more "survivor", more interactable items and other things of that nature.

Finally, I have started work on chapter 2. This chapter is more ambitious than the first one, as it sets up more of the lore, more NPCs, and other things, so that takes time.

That is the end of the updates today, I will give more updates in the future. So, wait for the next big update!

Regards,  A.S.H from 13th Night Studio
